BIDDING FOR TIME

Paul-Newman-Daytona-Advert-2

There’s a ‘lot’ more to auctions than property and art, and we’re not talking about the slave trade. Anything can turn up in ‘The Room’.

Fellows & Sons have been ticking along since 1876, sending thousands of wristwatches under the hammer, plus jewellery, toys, furniture and vintage stuff. Okay, so a Rolex did recently fetch £40k, but the more clock-wise could bag an original 70s darkscreen Casio – yes, the one with groovy red LCD – for a couple of hundred.

Stephen Whittaker, Managing Director, says, ‘Rare collectibles or great bargains, you can’t predict if an auction will be tactical, fierce, calculated or cool.
It’s always nail-biting.’

If chewing your digits doesn’t appeal, you can bid by app or online.

How timely.
