DAVEDave Eldridge is much more than your average Building Manager; he’s your BFF.

His sole purpose is “keeping residents happy” and he considers the Grade II Listed Queens College Chambers his second home, gleefully on call there 24/7, 365 days a year, finding the time to help with repairs, receive deliveries and even assemble furniture. Former residents now living in New Zealand, Canada and India all stay in contact via Facebook, and he’s deemed Surrogate Dad and Agony Uncle to the building’s younger folk.

All agree that Dave is the beating pulse of the former medical (then music) college, now home to 120 apartments in Brum’s city centre. Alongside cleaner Barbara, he also organises residents parties where 30- 40 neighbours drink until the small hours.

The only complaint? Dave’s taste in 80s music.
