Out go the old library, Copthorne Hotel and other remnants of our carbuncle-laden past, and in come a series of bright pedestrian boulevards and open green spaces, connecting New Street with Symphony Hall in considerable people-friendly panache.


With competitions for new buildings and landscaping, the whole caboodle will not only bring forth a beautiful and walkable new city realm, but also enhance the listed civic architecture of the Town Hall, BMAG and Council House as historic centrepieces of a modern public forum.
